Term: Executus Nul Rationalus
Meaning: Amazingly enough coming from two English words, and those would be “Execute” (complete an action or movement, especially one requiring skill) and “Rationale” (the reasoning or principle that underlies or explains something, or a statement setting out this reasoning or principle). Throw in a “Nul”(as in Null), for the meaning of a negative reference, or lack of Rationale and the term is now complete. Read more…

Those of you that are mentally enslaved at a large corporation will recognize some of the following, and others will laugh and count themselves lucky they don’t have to face such stupidity. You see without revealing a lot about my specific job I decided to share some of the mind numbing experiences that truly make me wonder how the people in charge got there in the first place. Thus begins my review of terms that are scene in today’s corporate world that need some acknowledgement and perhaps some clarification.

I must have WordPress themes on my mind these days. I ran across this contest recently and said I might as well post something about it and get my name in the proverbial hat. The contest is pretty straight forward and has two themes from which to choose from if you win. Read more…

I just spent several hours watching a marathon of Anthony Bourdain – No Reservations, thanks Tivo.
Ever watch it? Perhaps it’s because I’m a native NYer, but I really enjoy his personality and wit during his travels. I’m not much of a traveling person, but I wouldn’t turn down the ability to go wandering the world and meetings new people and trying out their food. Though I have to also admit some of that food he has to taste makes me give him an extreme kudos for keeping a straight face.

Question of the moment: Why do we invest so little into the people who enrich our lives?
Thought behind question: Why do we pay teachers, police, firemen so little, but ask so much from them in return?
Pardon my ramble, but this is just spilling out of my head at the moment.
This is one of those questions that’s asked several hundred times and possibly several thousand times in this country alone. So I ask myself why for such a so called advanced nation of educated people, why do we pay people that risk their lives for people they don’t even know, run into deadly situations involving fire and other hazardous circumstances, and strive to educate the future of our nation an amount you can barely live on, and never mind raise a family. Yes, I’m finally back. Miss me? Hello?
Anyway! My work has really had me brain fried so any thought of documenting a thought was the farthest thing from my mind when I’ve been documenting policies, procedures, and things that you can do you in your sleep, but for some reason management wants it documented so they have some idea what you do, or so it would seem.
So, I need to brain dump some thoughts that have been lingering for the last few days, and drop them off into the “weekend of something to read”.
Speaking of reading I got an offer from my friends *cough* at Bellsouth/AT&T, or whatever they are calling themselves these days. And to my dismay the entire offer was bi-lingual, and I guess I won’t have to state what the second language was … okay, who said “Spanish”?
Yes, once again I say to myself “Why?!” .. Well, actually I know why, it’s because the large portion of people who just can’t seem to find the need to learn the primary language of this country speak.. Yes, Spanish. Yes, Capitalistic America is just fostering the lack of initiative to have people who can’t speak English just go on in their native tongue. Thanks AT&T. Good going guys! Just keep nurturing the problem.

I really have to stop reading about what’s going on in the world because it really makes me wonder who is in charge at times. I currently live in a state that is striving to be a coastal desert state due to a condition lovingly known as a drought. In case you’re not into trivia or don’t feel like guessing I live in Georgia, which if things don’t change soon will be known as the dehydrated peach state. As things have gotten considerably worse with the lack of rainfall, the pumping of water to other states (Florida and Alabama) our primary water supplies are looking more like a fine collection of sand dunes. They already put into affect restrictions, bans, and other penalties for landscape watering and other outdoor water usage, but only on county specific levels. Yes, most of the state is in crisis, but it’s up to each county it seems to save as much water as possible. Well, not to worry the state is going to step in and make some hard hitting decisions and one of these is the ability to use your pool! Read more…
