Telecommuting Paranoia
Even with all the focus on “Green” and “Earth Friendly” options Corporate America is so slow (for the most part) with implementing work at home initiatives. Personally speaking I truly think that the majority of upper management has this paranoia that their workers are going to be sleeping late and napping on the couch all day. With the vast options of broadband internet and the ability to access work related material why does it take so much time to implement such simple plans? It must be related to that “warm body” syndrome when a manager can’t seem to figure out that you don’t need to see someone in a cube to actually know that person is working. I don’t know if it’s a trust issue, a control issue, or just an issue of not being able to implement something new and different.
Management of the World! Wake up! Do something new and different that doesn’t have to do with buzz words, committees, and double talk. Just make a plan and make it work. It’s not that hard.

Hello,
I noticed that one of the posts on your website is about telecommuting. I’m Rick Dane, the creator of a new telecommute web community where users can review and rate employers, find jobs, and network with others using our site’s social network. The site is free to use for all members and we are hoping to get the word our to people who may be interested. Unfortunately there are a lot of dead ends and scams in the work from home / telecommute employment field so the goal of our site is to be a reliable source for those interested in this.
If you like our site or think it has any potential and want to post on your site about it send us a link and we will post it on the “Media Coverage”: (http://telecommutereview.com/content/media-coverage) section of our site. Thanks and have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Rick Dane

I agree with you whole heartedly. Corporate America ought to get their heads out of the rather nasty posteriors and see that it is very possible and cost effective to have workers at home doing their jobs. And here’s a big revelation for them. So what if they sleep to noon if they get their work done. HELLO!!!! Who cares! Thanks for this post. Hope lots of corporate folks read it and get a clue. Bout time.
