Striking 101

Is seems like the WGA needs to read up on basic strike edict, or at least stop flip-flopping around with the stance of their striking in the first place. From a recent newscast it seems like “Writers won’t picket NAACP Image Awards on Fox” – now that really makes you wonder. Especially when they come up with quotes like this:
“The Guild examines each request like this individually and no decision is easy,” WGA West president Patric Verrone said in a statement. “Our ultimate goal is to resolve this strike by achieving a good contract. Because of the historic role the NAACP has played in struggles like ours, we think this decision is appropriate to jointly achieve our goals.”
Uh, guys their a civil rights organization and you’re a union of writers are we missing the resemblances or are you just fishing for excuses for which award shows you wish to bring down your wrath upon and which you will spare your picketing and scorn?
I have a lot of respect for the writers and their crusade for fair compensation, but when they start picking and choosing which shows get the right to have access to their talent then that just belittles the whole effort and makes them look like their doing it for spite versus being compensated for their talent and skill.
