Heroes Season 2 has ended
It was a decent season ending, even though half the conclusions were near giveaways storyline wise.
Yes, another results of the great strike and the seemingly rushed ending to this year’s season and all its plot endings. Just give the writers what their asking for you cheap bastards! Gah! The logic of not supporting the writers is truly mind boggling when you see the effects of the entire industry just coming to a halt. Yes, so like I was saying before I interrupted myself (it’s a gift, what can I say), some things were pretty evident that they were going to end up like they did … (to me at least)
Death of Nathan – yeah, ever since I saw that flashing light in the vault I knew he was screwed. I don’t see him coming back since he took a few shots to the chest, but you can never tell with this show just how permanent death can be or in some cases not be. This should prove interesting when Peter wants to show his disapproval for killing his brother.
Death of Niki – Uh, the way she was (if you want to call it) running through the burning building (okay, perhaps it was a side effect of the virus) she looked like she was half dead already getting out of the building after freeing Monica. It just seemed like after pistol whipping the guy several times out in the street that she was in a good state of mind to kick ass and take names, but then got weaker when trying to find her way out of an inferno. I hope she “finds her way out” of this demise in a classic Niki fashion.
Noah - Poor Noah, first he thinking about his own death, then he dies, then he’s alive, then he goes back to his family to say “Hi, I’m alive, but I got to go, sorry it’s just part of the deal”. The man just can’t seem to get a break, aside from not being dead that is.
Mohinder – Hmm, he seems like an intelligent guy, but I can’t believe he so easily gave up Clarie’s blood. I would have thought he could have easily played with Sylar long enough for help to arrive, help not being Elle’s attempt at being Daddy’s girl again, and not give him the only means to get his power back. Oh well, I guess we needed to get Sylar back in circulation splitting heads open.
Matt – I like the new edge to his powers, but I thought he would of gave Peter a better run for his money since Peter barely knows how to work some of his powers at times. Matt goes for the mental suggestion and Peter tells him where to put his suggestion. Poor Matt, he tries though.
Hiro – He really seems to be developing well, even with that whole time-vacation back in the ancient times of Japan. I really got a kick out of his plan for Adam, but wondered what took him so long to figure out to stop time, grab person, time-port away. Maybe I’ve seen too many movies.
Ando – this season his script consisted mostly of reading ancient notes stuffed in a sword and asking Hiro where he’s been.
Micah – makes hacking look easy. The exact depth and limit to this power is really making me wonder.
I still can get into some characters though …
Maya and Alejandro for instance. The entire season I kept asking myself why they are here. The character and powers seems ever so rushed and I know they love to save some subject matter to spring on us as the story unfolds, but these two really got the raw end of the character stick. I’m wondering if they were going for some classic border crossing story line gone heroic. I kind of wondered where poor Alejandro was going to end up since his sister was learning to control her powers and his “ability” just was put on the endangered species list. It seemed like they were used as some mechanism to get Sylar back into the US.
Monica – she had such a great initial introduction and that move she did on the guy breaking into the fast food joint was quite impressive. Then she ends up being the worse cat burglar in the history of home invasions. She couldn’t do more than research how to climb up on a roof and break into a window? She seemed like such a bright girl and then ends up being the worse short-sighted hero to date. Hey, look at me I have the power to get caught. She should have watched more wrestling on TV it seems at this point. I hope they invest some writing into her powers.
Makes me wonder …
Sylar - I can’t want to hear the back story of what they did to him and why they had him guarded by one agent out in the middle of nowhere. Good plan guys, if you want to get the villain back into the plot REAL quick that is.
Adam – Uh, sure if you say so. The somewhat immortal guy with the twisted look on the future really needs to work on a plan without making it so damn terminal for the entire planet, if you ask me. I guess being 400 years old you gain a sense of thinking “BIG” in your scope of execution.
Review of the season side notes …
DL - I’m still wondering why they had to kill off DL. I thought his character and power were really involving and I really wanted to see where it was going to develop into. I suppose I shouldn’t be too down trodden though since when is death a major downside in comics anyway.
Oh well, enough for now, got to get back to work.
