Employee Self Evaluation
If anything could sum up the logic of Corporate America, the “Employee
Self Evaluation” would be up there in the top 5 at least. Where else
can you be tasked to review yourself, and wonder how could you possibly
not get a raise, promotion, or perhaps just give a lifelong severance
package because you can make yourself sound as if you can walk on water
and still be a virtual enigma of an employee. If we are asked to
evaluate ourselves, exactly what are managers for? Perhaps the self
evaluation is just some form of reminding them of the person that is 10
cubes down and to the right of them. I have no idea, but it makes me
laugh every time I have to do this. It’s the fine line between writing
reality and fiction all in the same presentation. I should of bronzed
that last paragraph, it was a keeper.
